Similarly, a liquids particles have some energy, but if they gain more they will bounce off each other more frequently moving them further apart; eventually they are far enough apart that it is a gas.

ReplyDeleteParticles in a solid do move just a very small amount as they are vibrating also when a solid goes to a liquid the particles gain more kinetic energy meaning they vibrate more this weakens the bonds holding the particles together which means the particles can move around more forming a liquid if the particles continue to gain more kinetic energy then the bind are weakened so much that they break forming a gas
